Site Review: BigCupid

I visited BigCupid.com which is billed as an international BBW Dating site. The signup process was very easy asking for the usual information. Even though I had to complete my entire profile I did not get the feel of filling out a long form. This could be due to the fact that the process was divided into 3 different pages.

The Members Page:

The member page is organized rather nice. All relevant information is located to the right which allows you to get started right away if you would like to search for a potential mate, set your match settings, check your missed IMs, and other settings that you may want to update of add. 

One particular feature I liked in the members page was the Gallery link to the right. By clicking on the link you receive a gallery of profiles with pictures with the option to view photos or video. This is a particularly nice feature if you don’t want to do a complete search.

Member Profile Page:

After clicking one of the pictures I was taken to the full profile rather quickly. This is important as some dating sites have become sluggish when moving from page to page. You have the option to click on the photo to enlarge it. This will also tell you whether there are more photos available. The profile layout is very clean with the picture on the top left and just below the links that would allow you to show interest, send an email, block the user, and a few more links if you so choose to use them.  

Membership Plan Features:

Gold Plan – $24.99 per month

Advantages: Initiate contact with members through email or instant messaging, use the chat room, create your own profile, add 5 photos, add a personality profile, include your personal contact information in messages that you send to members and rank your profile above Standard members.

Disadvantages: Does NOT allow you to view all video greetings, or send or receive videos in email.

Platinum Plan – $29.99 per month

Advantages: The ultimate membership option for the most discerning members. Initiate contact with female and male members through email, voicemail or videomail. Use video, voice or text instant messaging, create your own profile, add 5 photos, use the chat room, add a personality profile, record your own video greeting or send or receive video or voice mail, include your personal contact information in messages and rank your profile above Gold Members.

Disadvantages: none.

Conclusion:

I found BigCupid.com to be a very well established and managed Niche Dating Site with an above-average design with several features that anyone looking for a potential mate would use but to full take advantage of the site you have to pull out the credit card because without it you will have access to the standard features offered by any other dating site nevertheless it is definitely worth a look.
